The weekends.

The weekends are for resting. Taking the backseat and just get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. And a time to go back to God.

My dream Saturday weekend would be like this:

i wake up early on a Saturday morning, go cycling/run to the reservoir. Watch families walk their children and families. I'll have breakfast after that. Crackers and cheeeese while listening to 90.5. and reading the design section of the Life! page. I would then go for a swim after this to wipe off the scum and sweat.

Then comes the afternoon. Rent a dvd from ezy. Spend the afternoon with some chips and the movie.

evening calls for a BBQ! I thought it would be nice to cook your own food when the sun's setting. And of course, have a meal with your parents. Take out the chilled wine and have some cheezy herby baked potato skinn.

at night, my friends and i would congregate some where have an intense board game session with Risk, monops, munchkinny or Citadels or something. And remember to have an early night. Cuz the next day's churchies!

relaxing, I like. Spend it at home cuz everywhere else will be jammed with massivve amounts of people. Best place, cooped up at home.

i'm in bed now, blogging in bed via my mobile phone. Yea. I just finished my qt. And i came across a verse my dad quoted this afternoon. Cause 1, i slept for 12 hours, 2, skipped breakfast and 3, my neighbour passed away because of cancer.

Floss it while you can. I know, it's get painful and it's leh chey. I dont do it often, but yea. It's good for you.

Brush your gums. Look in the mirror. Your gums should be light pink. Not red. If it's red, means it's red bad. They are getting infected. They should look smooth.. If they looks red and bumpy, means the same thing - getting infected. Gums bleeding frequently is also a sign. But after brushing gums for like a week or so, it should get better. So, brush your gums!

hmmm.. Use listerine. Or some kinda anti bacterial mouthwash thing. Do it at nights, can already.

I thought about this today as I went to pay my last respects to my dad's eldest cousin. Who was this generation's 'father', big brother, who died at a premature age of 67. He should have lived longer. It was a massive blow to the Foo family and a large part of the Hakka clan here as he was a man who took care of everyone.

Anyways. i thought.. there should be a Facebook thingy, where family members, friends and close ones can write about these people who passed away. Know what they did during their lifetime, good deeds and stuff. Upload photos?

I just dont want these people to disappear like how they do after the cremation. Life testimonies going up in smoke. They dont just end at the crematorium. They should be stored on an online archive.. and see their life testimonies live on forever..

an unusual holiday experience

I have just returned from a very, i must say.. unique holiday experience. There were very good times, and also very bad. But all in all, i've learnt to rationalise decisions together as a group. And also, i've learnt many things about my friends.

But like after every trip, you just wanna go more, do more, see more and eat more...

Although i havent slept in about 2 days due to some bad sleeping arrangements, I just wanted do a quickie here, since it's still fresh in my head. I'll try not to forget this one. Ever!

some moments i should remember:
1. We made our decision to head to PD 2 hours before leaving.
2. We headed there without a clue about what's there to see and do. Except to go visit a lighthouse.
3. Lodging arrangements were not made.
4. God settled all these for us as we went in faith.

and We had lots of fun together =D yay!

HAHA!! This is so girly i know.. But holidays are getting a lil boring. So i tried making some cakes. There's supposed to be a layer of strawberry jello covering the top. But i got too excited at these pretty strawberry hearts, jello had to wait. I quickly whipped out my new camera and take a shot at it.

The other day.. what? Yesterday? YEA! yesterday. I decided to go to the dentist with me momma. I just wanted to get my teeth cleaned out. Especially with that irritating permanent retainers that i have that always traps food and make it difficult to brush and floss out bacteria.

Yes! And so! After a year, i went to see the hygienist and i had it finally cleaned again. It feels really good and clean now. I feel much confident.

I feel that keeping your mouth clean and free from bacteria is something that everyone should pay attention to. It makes a person more confident when he or she speaks - no bad breath or yellow-y teeth with food stuff stuck in between your teeth.

So yea! Get it cleaned today.. It is expensive, but necessary.

I thought i'd write something about this magazine i bought last Saturday. I thought it was the most inspiring Wallpaper* issue ever! It focuses on nothing else, but design in China! That's why.. It's one of those magazines that make me savour every page. Reading it slowly.

Firstly, wallpaper* inc. is based in the UK.. but for this issue, the editor and his entire team temporarily shifted their office to Beijing and Shanghai, China. I guess it is to better facilitate gathering of resources and etc. That to me, shifting your entire office, temporarily, is so cool! Change is cool!

2ndly, it covers every inch of design. From retail, to chic hotels, to fashion. And it's all about China let-me-remind-you. This is one of the things that just makes me smile.

3rdly, I'm proud and blessed to say that I've been to some of these places the mag reviewd. I thought it was just so heartwarming to know you have the same photo of thiers in your album somewhere. Also, to just say quietly in your heart.. "I've been there before!" And you wanna show/bring that someone there. - Paper

Singapore named motorsport facility of the year

With its electric atmosphere, stunning cityscape backdrop and packed grandstands, September’s Singapore Grand Prix was one of the highlights of the 2008 season. And the spectacular success of Formula One racing’s first-ever night race has now been recognised at the Professional Motorsport World awards, which were held in the German city of Cologne on Tuesday.

The Marina Bay circuit was awarded the title of motorsport facility of the year at the annual ceremony and was commended for its revolutionary lighting system, and for the location of the track, which was situated right in the heart of the Asian city.

“We are delighted that the efforts of the entire team, the invaluable contribution from all our fantastic partners, and the strong collaborative efforts from the government agencies and businesses, particularly those around the circuit, have been recognised by this award” said Jonathan Hallett, director of media and communications for Singapore GP Pte Ltd.

“We have received a great many compliments from around the world since the running of the race in September, but this is an award given by our peers, the professionals who work in motor sports. It therefore is especially gratifying to receive this award.”

Other shortlisted candidates included the second new venue on the 2008 Formula One calendar, the Valencia Street Circuit in Spain. Meanwhile, Toro Rosso's Franz Tost picked up the prize for team principal of the year.
